Purulia Adivasi

Sasangbeda Simra Vidyagar is a tribal residential school in the Bandwan block of Purulia district in West Bengal, India. The school consists of 106 residential students (62 boys and 44 girls) and is maintained by the local tribal organization Sasangbeda Sowahet Mader. The school originally did not have any classrooms, as all classes were held on open grounds at the school. Additionally, there were no toilets or bathroom facilities available for students. To improve the school infrastructure, Caring Hands partnered with Sasangbeda Sowahet Mader to build a combined classroom/big hall and separate bathrooms for boys and girls.
