St. James Community Orphans School is located in the Mfangano island community in Kenya, a community hit hard by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Many of the children there became orphans due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. As the government was unable to provide sufficient nutritional and educational resources, the community there decided to create their own community school for the poor and orphaned children, thus establishing St. James Community Orphans School. To promote educational efforts in the school, Caring Hands paid teachers’ salaries for the elementary school in Mfangano Island, Kenya.
Caring Hands Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization registered in the State of California with Tax ID 46-0810609
