In partnership with Friends of Kolkata’s Elderly (FOKE), Caring Hands is transforming local old age homes into vibrant after-school educational centers. This intergenerational “Happy Classroom” program is designed to close basic literacy gaps and empower students to become confident, self-reliant learners.

More than just academics, the program integrates crucial life skills through social activities. Students work in groups, engage in arts and crafts, and spend valuable time caring for senior citizens, fostering empathy and community bonds from a young age.

Since 2024, Caring Hands has been providing the teachers’ salary at two FOKE elderly centers to run their Happy Classroom programs  (FOKE)
