Gopalpur Bhagabatipur Sishu Sikha Kendra is a school located in the least developed deltaic region of the South 24 Paragans District of West Bengal, India. The school was initially built on insufficient funds from the government, leading to poor school infrastructure. In addition, the high rain falls (100 inches) during monsoon season cause flooding, forcing the school to be suspended frequently. Caring Hands renovated the educational facilities and provided classroom furniture. Our aim is to build a better educational environment for learning in order to reduce dropout rate in the short term and improve literacy rate long term.
