Durganagar School is located in one of the most underdeveloped parts of West Bengal. The area is inhabited by agricultural laborers, and the literacy rate is very low. The school initially had very poor infrastructure due to insufficient government funding. As a result, the dropout rate was high. To change this, Caring Hands provided a grant to renovate the educational facilities including the school building, furniture, and bathrooms. We built toilets for girls and boys and provided basic classroom furniture with the goal of creating an educational environment conducive to learning and continued attendance.
