Darjeeling Chintan school

Darjeeling Chintan School, formerly known as Gandhi Smarak School, is located in a village called Takling 21 kilometers away from sub-divisional town Kalimpong in Darjeeling district in West Bengal, India. The school consists of 72 students with 38 boys and 32 girls, mostly tribal. Children from the nearby villages of Baramangwa, Chotamangwa and Soreng also attend this school in grades Nursery through Class VIII, as they depend on the school for both education and extracurricular activities such as karate. The school had poor infrastructure with only one hut with a thatched roof and no toilet. As many villages were depending on this school for education, Caring Hands decided to build permanent educational facilities for the school.
