Digital Literacy for School Children

Empowering Girls Through Digital Literacy
For seven years, our partner, Tekons Education, has delivered vital digital literacy training at the Rasulgarh Ashram School in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The challenge? The 110 resident girls had no computers for hands-on practice, limiting their potential.
Now, Caring Hands is partnering with Tekons Education to change that. We are building a dedicated computer lab for students in grades 1 through 7, providing the essential access needed to bridge the digital divide.
Our program covers a wide range of topics:
  • Foundational Skills: Email, internet use, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced Topics: Introduction to software, programming languages (Java & Python).
  • STEM Exposure: Access to online mathematics and science subscriptions.
This initiative is designed to spark an interest in STEM fields, leading to self-sustaining career opportunities and brighter futures.
Funds for this project will directly support the purchase of equipment (computers, monitors, furniture, software) and the salaries of a dedicated facilitator and technician.
