Description

The devastating earthquake of April 25th, 2015, and its aftershocks have inflicted severe damage to school buildings in the affected areas in Nepal. The educational institutions/schools which are forced to conduct regular classes under open skies because of damage inflicted to the school buildings. This has compromised the right to education for thousands of school children. Many schools are operating in makeshift classrooms, the majority of which will not last the monsoon. Permanent infrastructural development is crucial for the functioning of any educational institution. Caring Hands has teamed with Youth Thinkers Society (YTS) in Nepal to reconstruct two primary schools in the most affected earthquake-hit villages of Dolakha and Makwanpur. We want to re-institute the fundamental right to education of the students who have been forced to embrace open grounds as classrooms by rebuilding their schools from the rubble.
