BANSBERIA BALIKA ASHRAM – A SAFE HAVEN HOUSE FOR DESTITUTE GIRLS
“Every child comes with a message that God is not yet discouraged of man”
– Rabindranath Tagore
Dear friends,
Last December we visited our Bansberia Rural Development project in India. As we were inquiring and admiring our many achievements, we were introduced to a group of beautiful little girls whose pretty but sullen faces implied some sad stories. These orphaned destitute children were surviving merely by begging, child labors and half starving. They do not go to school and thus have no future for self-sustaining survival.
We have decided to build a safe haven house for these 15 girls where they will be housed and nourished under supervision of a resident foster mother. Their school education will be assured leading eventually to a productive life.
The estimated budget for construction with furniture and provisions will come to about 18 thousand dollars.
We need your help to achieve this safe haven for our girls.
Please consider making your tax deductible donation.
Thanking you.
